Hey, it’s been a while.
I know I’ve been quiet online. So I wanted to pop in, say hi, and let you know that Small Town Sober is still very much something I care about.
And now we have our own little home: wearesmalltownsober.com. I’m really excited about that.
I want this to be a place where I can share more than a quick caption. Somewhere we can talk about sober life and all the everyday things that come with it. Motherhood. Friendships. Boundaries. Being from a small town. Figuring out what you actually enjoy and who you’re becoming.
If you’re new here, hi. I’m Dawnell.
I’m a mom, a creative, and the founder of Small Town Sober. I started this because I want sobriety to be something we can talk about openly. There are people quietly wondering where they fit, whether they can start over, or if anyone else feels the way they do.
I want them to find a little company here.
You can be sober, sober-curious, starting again, or here because you care about someone who’s struggling. You’re welcome.
What I want to share next
More writing. More conversations about the ordinary parts of sober life. The things that feel awkward to say out loud, the things we’re proud of, and the things we’re still working through.
The podcast archive is here, too, if you’d like to listen. And I’ve started adding stories to the blog, including one about addiction and recovery in a town where everybody knows your name.
I’m still figuring out what this space will grow into. For now, I want to show up, write, and hear from you.
What would you like to talk about here? What do you wish people understood about sober life? You can send me a note or come say hi on Instagram.
If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for sticking around. If you just found me, I’m glad you’re here.
Love,
Dawnell
